“The true reflection of a man’s wealth should be found in his woman.”
I don’t know Xangans, do you think that’s true?
What if he has no wealth at all? Then what will he reflect? What will we use to measure his love for us?
This is what HousewifeNY thinks:

Somehow, this freakishly reminds me of the selfish-mentality of my father, and I NEVER agree with my father. He would say something like this: “If [so-and-so] really loves you, he would spend every penny on you! Now that’s real love! Not the other way around!”
But this one is tough, sometimes I just think husbands need to spoil their wives rotten…

The true reflection of a man’s wealth is his faith in God…I dunno…how does that sound?
i liked the last sentence of her entry, thanks for the link!
hmm… i dunno about the faith in god idea…what if the guy isnt even religious? how can the reflectiono f his wealth be measured? and..are we talkinga bout literal wealth or metaphorical? and what kind of wealth anyway? maybe we’re referring to all that he needs int he world to make him feel satisfied? i dont think a woman should mean EVERYTHING to a man… she should take up a large part of his life,b ut not be the ONLY thing he’s living for. i think a healthy combination of significant other, family, friends, work, and hobbies is a good… equation for anyone’s wealth
spending every penny on you..that’s not love..that’s idol worship
hey nelle, thanks for the birthday wishes! =D
i think that spending time together is maybe the most valuable thing two people can give to each other cause you can’t put a price tag to that. and i agree with your xanga buddy… the girl should not be the only thing the dude focuses on. he’ll be leading an unbalance lifestyle and that’s not good for anybody. i heard a quote that goes something like this… how a woman takes care of herself can sort of represent how she will take care of her man. so i think investing in one’s own interests as well as providing for the love in their lives would be good. you gotta love yourself too. =)
Hi, thanks for linking my post!
First, I think there can be multiple interpretations of the quote. It could mean that we are measured/judged by the company that we keep. In that sense, whom we choose as our mate is a reflection of ourselves.
Secondly, regarind your father’s comment. I dont think he was being selfish at all. I think (1) he is concerned for you because you are his daughter and parents always want to see their children at the receiving end of any relationship; and (2) if someone truly loves you, he should spoil you, in all facets, and to the best of his abilities. He shouldn’t have to take out loans to buy you the latest bags or jewels, but he should give what he can afford.
Just my thoughts. =)
Whoa, if money or jewlery was a measure of the love a person has for another then … everyone should be going after Bill Gates. He would theoretically have the largest capacity for love on the planet. Does that make sense? and wouldn’t that make love a bussiness transaction? How much is your love worth? Saphires? Rubies? Dimonds?… can your love be purchased? If you ask me, something like the person you love is immesurable by any physical object. (master card should make a commercial about that ;P)
I think if people were truly in love they wouldn’t want be spoiled any further, what more can you possibly want (aside from basic necessities of life) then the one you love?
But sure! have fun a splurge once in a while, there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as you realize that at the end of the day its who you are not what you buy that’s important.
The real measure of a man/woman’s wealth? … is in the choices he/she make…ok it’s a little abstract but give it a chance.
The real measure of a person love?… if its love you won’t have to ask.
i wnt to castlemore public school….central park would be cpps
your father has the right idea but.. i think you can FEEL if so-and-so really loves you.
