Tru Say.
Reminded me of what machine_gun_funk wrote today.
“And this is our problem, we can’t deal with the face to face so we let technology replace the space that people are suppose to feel. Let’s face it. We are eternally afraid of what’s real. We’ve forgotten that our physical contact is more important than our number of contacts — so we settle for convenience.”

Life of A Banker #1827
In the Staff Room.
L: “So there was this really cute guy and we talked and everything and oh my god, he like so gave me his number!”
Me: “Oh really, and then what happened.”
L: “And we met up and we sort of went on a date last night”
Me: “Mmm-hmm.”
L: “And yeah I checked his account and there’s no joint account with another woman! So I’m safe and good to go!”
That’s how we bankers do.
Keep us close to your hearts.
Because we know your money better than you do.

AYOOOOO
TECHNOLOGY
That would depend on how long you’ve been an agent. =j
@Agent_Eric - 2002! I beat you. I win. You pay.
amazing!!!! i’m going to steal this and post it on facebook. thanks!!!!
@aquapink - I’ve watched this so many times. She leaves me with a profound moment of truth at the end. It keeps me hooked every single time. I love def poetry!!
normally, i would say youtube video entries are a cheap cop-out used to garner praise, recognition, and a couple laughs at the expense of genuine creativity or value [and yes, i would say it in those exact words
].
but, this… after i finished it the first time, i hit ‘replay’ 3 times – just nodding my head over and over – before i even noticed you’d written anything. and when i did get to reading, i was nodding my head again. “physical contact… number of contacts…” — that’s the line i waited for each time.
ryc: i’ve seen people buy those hash browns up that way too
there’s just something about them….probably cocaine, but whatever. I like it. haha.
as for the video…it’s weird but, at this point for me; i’m starting to have a better appreciation for social networking technology. i was having this discussion with my friend and i was telling her that I would rather meet someone after I saw what they post on a site like xanga, rather than do the whole “meeting someone randomly at a bookstore” thing. the former kind of shows you the theme they have in their life while the latter is more of a shoot from the hip action. at some point, there will have to be some type of physical interaction but i’d rather only do it once I kind of have an idea as to what I’m getting into meeting this person (i’m referring to both friendships and, for lack of a better term, personals-related) but then again, it could totally be the opposite. who knows? i liked video though. sums things up nicely.
Hahahaha. omgg. the life of a banker. lol.
Great video post.
And haha about the life of a banker. That’s not the first time I’ve heard that type of story. My friend had a banker check up on a girl and found out that she was cheating on him. Buying lingerie on credit in a different state
speechless..
she’s amazing =*)
how did she check his account just like that? is that shit legal? O_O
@wutuwaitn4 - Apparently, no. As long as we don’t do anything to the account, but just look, it’s A-OKAY!! Your banker could be doing the very same thing!
HAHAHAHAH ELLEN you are awesome. I love how you dryly replied to your valleygirl of a co-worker “Oh really, then what happened.” But maybe that man’s girlfriend/wifey is probably a bit of a feminist and refuses to have a joint account because she doesn’t want to live off her man?
As for your reply to Helen’s post – I suppose you’re right, because good would not exist without evil, right?
Amen. I certainly felt that way regarding technology when I spent more time being in the computer instead of spending quality-time with my family and friends that I feel guilty afterwards…… Ok I think I better get off my laptop now LOL
my friend did that before. she felt guilty about it, but i knew, you only ever feel guilty about it, the first time.
that’s how i got kobe bryant’s SS#.
lol.
it is.
and so is mario kart & diddy kong when you have someone else!
i think i might invest in a ds for my work trip. lol.
LMFAO!!!! THAT IS SO FUCKIN FUNNY!!!!!!
(i just run their credit)
let’s conquer the world.
haha i guess ur talking about commercial banking, ibankers don’t have access to personal accounts
sorry i over analyze
–> would never marry a commercial/consumer banker.
oh snap…she speaks truth.
